In recent weeks, PSG has been engaged in a fierce transfer battle against Bayern Munich. The two clubs are vying for the signing of Desire Doue, with offers made and only the player’s decision remaining.
At the beginning of the transfer window, Desire Doue was quickly rumored to be leaving, and the Stade Rennais management seemed aware that it would be challenging to keep their French gem for another season.
The asking price? 60 million euros. With a desire to start fresh under new coach Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich hopes to secure the French youth international this summer. Consequently, the Bavarian club promptly made an initial offer of 35 million euros.

PSG vs. Bayern, the battle for Desire Doue
Far from meeting Rennes' expectations, this offer was rejected. In addition to this refusal, Bayern Munich saw PSG enter the race with a higher bid of 45 million euros. To counter this, the Bavarian leaders made a second proposal of 55 million euros, only for PSG to respond with the full 60 million euros asking price. This latest offer, which matches Stade Rennais' valuation, now awaits Désiré Doué's decision.
A decision was expected in recent days. However, as the 19-year-old Frenchman is currently engaged with the French Olympic team, the competition is likely to delay the resolution of his future. This is according to Florian Plettenberg, a journalist for Sky Sport in Germany.
He also emphasizes Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s determination not to miss out on this transfer, continuing to push for the deal to be completed in favor of PSG. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich's Board of Directors is hesitant to reach the 55/60 million euro transfer mark until a sale has been made.
