PSG unveils squad for clash against Brest in the French Cup
By Manuel Meza
This Wednesday, PSG hosts Brest in the round of 16 of the French Cup. This morning, Luis Enrique has revealed his squad.
For the second time in less than two weeks, PSG welcomes Stade Brestois to the Parc des Princes. Following their draw in Ligue 1 (2-2), both teams face each other this Wednesday in the round of 16 of the French Cup.
For this clash, Luis Enrique will have to do without Presnel Kimpembe, Milan Skriniar, and Nuno Mendes, who have been absent for some time, although the Portuguese left-back is nearing his return to the field.
The Spanish coach will also have to do without Randal Kolo Muani, who is ill, and Lucas Hernandez, who is suspended. Eliminated in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco, Achraf Hakimi returned to training with his PSG teammates yesterday. Despite having only one session under his belt, the right-back is included in the Parisian squad for the match against Brest.
Suspended against Strasbourg after receiving a red card against... Brest, Bradley Barcola returns to the squad called up by Luis Enrique, as do the 'titis' Ethan Mbappe, Senny Mayulu, and Yoram Zague.
The PSG squad list vs. Brest:
- Goalkeepers (3): Donnarumma, Navas, Tenas.
- Defenders (6): Marquinhos, Danilo, Mukiele, Hakimi, Beraldo, Zague.
- Midfielders (7): Ugarte, Ruiz, Vitinha, Soler, Zaire-Emery, E. Mbappe, Mayulu.
- Forwards (5): Mbappe, Ramos, Dembele, Asensio, Barcola.
The inclusion of Achraf Hakimi after his return from international duty brings a boost to PSG's defensive options, despite his limited training time with the team. Bradley Barcola's return to the squad provides additional depth in the attacking department
