PSG will have to adjust their plans for upcoming transfer markets, as one of their targets, also linked to Liverpool and Tottenham, has ultimately renewed their contract with his current club.

Paris Saint-Germain was looking to strengthen their offensive line last summer after losing Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer. One of the names that surfaced most frequently in the rumours was Olympique Lyonnais’ young star, Rayan Cherki.

The French winger was also linked with Premier League clubs such as Liverpool and Tottenham during the last transfer window. However, the Ligue 1 talent has officially signed a contract extension with OL.

As Olympique Lyonnais announced, Rayan Cherki has extended his contract. Per Transfermarket, the French starlet extended his stay at OL until 2026. Foot Mercato reported earlier that the new agreement has an option to extend his contract to one more season. With this, Cherki puts an end to the multiple sagas surrounding his future that we see in every transfer window.

Reports indicate that Cherki was viewed as a great prospect by PSG boss Luis Enrique. The Spanish coach has already signed other Ligue 1 talents like Bradley Barcola, also from Lyon, and Desire Doue from Stade Rennais, providing Cherki with strong examples to consider a move to PSG and the Parc des Princes. However, the 21-year-old player has opted to extend his stay at his formative club.

Rayan Cherki was even separated from the rest of the OL group recently, but it seems everything is back to normal now. Indeed, the French winger just scored against OM in his last Ligue 1 match, making a significant return to the competition.

If PSG, Liverpool, or Tottenham were hoping to assess his situation in the upcoming transfer windows, they may have to change or adjust their plans to reinforce their squads.
