PSG thinking about loaning Ismael Gharbi out to Werder Bremen
Ismael Gharbi, one of PSG's most promising talents from their Academy, had a rather subdued pre-season performance as he barely appeared in games for the team, leaving him on the outside of the first team looking and thinking about seeking opportunities to gain more professional experience away from Paris.
The possibility of a loan move negotiated through August has emerged of late as a solution for the short-term future of the youngster as it would allow him to further develop his skills at the top level.
Last January, Gharbi was on the verge of joining OGC Nice, but the potential transfer fell through when Hakim Ziyech's move did not materialize. Now, six months later, another opportunity has presented itself.
This time, Werder Bremen from the Bundesliga has shown interest in the 19-year-old striker according to information obtained by Sacha Tavolieri and reported on Friday.
Talks have reportedly "already taken place" regarding a potential loan deal between PSG and Werder Bremen, and whether they will reach a successful conclusion "remains to be seen."
A temporary departure could be beneficial for Gharbi, providing him with valuable game time to maximize his overflowing talent, and he would follow the steps of fellow young talent Xavi Simons as he returned to PSG earlier this summer but will spend a year playing at RB Leipzig of the Bundesliga.
While Gharbi may still be considered a bit inexperienced and clearly less talented than Simons at the moment, a loan move could be the perfect opportunity for him to blossom and make the most of his potential.
Such a deal would definitely allow PSG to properly assess his talent and whether or not they should move on from him or keep him in tow going forward.
