In their quest to strengthen their attacking front, PSG has reportedly marked Rayan Cherki as a target. Linked with the capital club last winter, the French U21 international has received an offer from PSG’s management.

As he enters the final year of his contract with his formative club, Olympique Lyonnais, Rayan Cherki faces a pivotal moment in his career at 20. The French U21 international has a contract extension offer until 2028, with a reduced salary.

However, his chances of accepting this offer seem slim, as Cherki appears determined to leave his formative club this summer. His second option is a contract with PSG.

According to L'Equipe, PSG has made an offer to Lyon of 15 million euros plus 3 million in bonuses to buy out the last year of Cherki's contract. Our sources add that OL, in need of liquid funds, has planned to sell the player: “The two parties could quickly come together and find an agreement for a transfer to Paris.”

On the same topic, well-informed PSG insider @Djaameel_ on social media has also shared insights, stating that “Luis Enrique and Luis Campos appreciate Rayan Cherki a lot... Luis Enrique believes he has a profile that could really benefit the team.”

According to internal sources reported by @Djaameel_, “a video call already took place several days ago between the player and Lucho.” However, this prospect isn't unanimously supported within PSG, as President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi “has always blocked the deal because he doesn’t particularly like the people surrounding the player.”

These reports are further confirmed by Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, who adds that Bradley Barcola, who transferred from Lyon to Paris last summer, has pitched the Rouge & Bleu project to Rayan Cherki.

Additionally, Fabrizio Romano confirms the 15M€ offer plus bonuses made by PSG’s management to Lyon for the French U21 international. However, Lyon has currently rejected this offer, aiming to include a significant resale clause in the deal.

According to RMC Sport, Olympique Lyonnais wants to secure 30% of any potential future resale of Cherki. Meanwhile, PSG remains confident, and Luis Enrique has already spoken with the 20-year-old attacking midfielder over the phone.
