Fabian Ruiz, often hailed as one of the best midfielders in the world by his national coach Luis de la Fuente, is facing a challenging moment at Paris Saint-Germain. Despite de la Fuente’s high praise, describing Ruiz as the "best in the world at his position," the Spanish midfielder has seen limited action under PSG manager Luis Enrique, clocking just 47 minutes of playtime since the season began.

This lack of playing time is causing unrest for Ruiz, who is reportedly unhappy with his current situation at PSG. His strained relationship with Enrique has been a notable issue since 2022, when Enrique, then the Spanish national team coach, chose not to include Ruiz in the World Cup squad.

According to Spanish media, Ruiz’s dissatisfaction with Enrique and his lack of regular game time are pushing him towards considering a move away from PSG. The Real Madrid connection seems particularly strong, with Eduardo Inda of OK Diario (h/t Le10Sport) suggesting that Ruiz has long admired the Spanish giants. Real Madrid is reportedly keen on acquiring Ruiz and might see him as a valuable addition to their squad for the upcoming season.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has been a longstanding admirer of Ruiz and could look to bring him to the Bernabeu if the opportunity arises. However, PSG’s stance on the matter is firm; the Parisian club is not inclined to part ways with Ruiz unless a significant offer is made.

To be honest, I would recommend taking this information with a pinch of salt. It’s easy to make such conjectures because in Spain, people are familiar with the personalities of Fabian Ruiz and Luis Enrique. However, it was Luis Enrique who gave the midfielder a prominent role last season.

Therefore, it’s best to wait and see how things unfold. With Warren Zaire-Emery's recent injury, it's likely that Fabian will regain prominence.
