The MD9 of the Ligue 1 season saw PSG finish Saturday's early slate in first position only to lose it on Sunday, falling to the third place in the table. Despite the changing rankings, PSG managed to create a slight gap between them and their closest competitors in fourth and fifth position.

Nice overtook PSG by defeating Marseille 1-0 on Saturday evening. Monaco also secured a solid victory against Metz on Sunday, maintaining their position at the top of Ligue 1 with a one-point lead over Nice and a two-point lead over PSG.

PSG, however, boasts the best goal difference in the league at +13, compared to Monaco's +11 and Nice's +6.

While the top three teams maintained their positions, their challengers faced setbacks on the ninth matchday. Brest suffered a defeat against Lille (0-1), and Reims could only secure a draw against Toulouse (1-1).

The current standings have Monaco leading the league with 20 points, followed by Nice (19) and PSG (18). Lille and Brest are next but down to just 15 points through MD9.

Looking ahead, MD10 features a pivotal matchup between PSG and Brest on Sunday, October 29. Additionally, Monaco faces a challenging away game against Lille, while Nice has a seemingly easier matchup against Clermont.
