As announced in recent days, Ismael Gharbi is officially leaving PSG. The young talent has signed with SC Braga in Portugal.
Encouraged to find a new club this summer, Ismael Gharbi is set to experience the Portuguese league. Although he was still under contract with PSG until 2025, the attacking midfielder has committed to SC Braga, a club with close ties to the Rouge & Bleu (QSI owns 21.67% of Braga). After successfully passing his medical, the 20-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Portuguese side, lasting until June 2029.
PSG's rising star joins Braga in bold career move
In their statement, SC Braga clarified that no transfer fee was paid for the Spanish U20 international. However, PSG retains 50% of any future transfer fee (based on the total amount, not just the profit). The Portuguese club also mentioned that Gharbi's release clause is set at €35 million.
According to some sources, the French champions managed to include a buy-back clause that can be activated in January 2025. Ismael Gharbi will wear the number 20 for his new team. On their part, PSG expressed their best wishes for Gharbi in his new journey. The 20-year-old midfielder had joined the club's pre-training center in 2016.
Gharbi's move to SC Braga marks a significant step in his young career, offering him the opportunity to gain regular first-team experience in a competitive European league. At just 20 years old, Gharbi has shown great promise and will be looking to make an immediate impact in Portugal.
