PSG's latest recruit, Desire Doue, has impressed in his early appearances with the Parisian club. The former Stade Rennais player already feels at home in Paris.
Doue's transfer to PSG had been anticipated throughout the summer. The 19-year-old versatile player was on the club's radar from the start of the transfer window, but he only officially signed in the final weeks.
Initially, he was focused on competing in the Olympic Games with the French national team, stating that he wanted to concentrate on the tournament before deciding on his future. After winning a silver medal, he chose to continue his career at PSG. Speaking at a press conference with the French U21 team, Doue reflected on this pivotal moment in his career:
"I’ve only known Stade Rennais, so when it comes to your first transfer, it’s something special. I’m discovering new things, but I’ve managed to integrate perfectly at PSG."
He explained that he focuses solely on his football and doesn’t concern himself with the financial aspects of transfers. He acknowledged that, having only known Stade Rennais, his first move was a significant experience, but he has adapted smoothly to life at PSG.
When asked about similarities between the playing styles of PSG and the French U21 team, he emphasized that they are two very different teams. While there may be some similarities in style, he noted that each team has its unique approach, particularly in terms of tactics and vision:
"I don’t think we should compare the two teams. PSG and the French national team are completely different. There may be some similarities in playing style, but today Gérald Baticle has his own vision, which is naturally different from PSG’s."
Doue also expressed his excitement about joining a club with such a strong reputation, noting that playing for PSG offers an entirely new level of challenges and opportunities. He highlighted the high expectations at the club, both from fans and management and how it motivates him to push himself further every day.
