On January 1st, PSG announced the signing of Lucas Beraldo, a 20-year-old Brazilian defender from Sao Paulo, on a five-year contract at the Parc des Princes.

Initially seen as a young prospect, perhaps just another addition to the squad, Beraldo has exceeded expectations and proven to be a valuable asset for the team.

According to Le10Sport, manager Luis Enrique is delighted with the young defender, who was acquired for €20 million and has earned a spot in the starting lineup, capitalizing on the injuries of some teammates, including Marquinhos.

He delivered an outstanding performance against Real Sociedad in the Champions League and also impressed against Niza in the Cup, much to the satisfaction of 'Lucho'.

"What I like most about him is his intelligence in reading the game. He is very composed on the ball and makes passes at the heart of the game which gives us superiority. Off the ball, he's also very clever," said the former Barcelona and Roma coach.

"Being smart is crucial when facing faster or stronger attackers. He has a personality, undoubtedly. We are thrilled to have him. He is a great find by Luis Campos," he added, referring to the club's sporting director.
