PSG's Cher Ndour heads to Besiktas for game-changing loan

Loaned out during the second half of the 2023-2024 season to Braga, Cher Ndour will not be playing for PSG in the 2024-2025 campaign. He has moved to Turkey on a loan deal with Besiktas.

After joining PSG on a free transfer from Benfica last summer, Cher Ndour signed a contract with the Parisian club until June 2028. In the first half of the season, he saw very little game time, featuring in only four matches across all competitions, totaling 115 minutes of play and scoring one goal.

During the second half of the season, he was loaned out to Braga, where his playing time remained limited (10 matches, 284 minutes, one goal). Upon returning to PSG, it became clear that his chances of playing for the French champions this season were slim.

A new loan move was considered, with several clubs showing interest in Cher Ndour, including some from Ligue 1. The 20-year-old midfielder expressed a desire to join a top-tier French club to gain experience in the league, with the hope of returning to PSG better equipped to earn the trust of Parisian management and Luis Enrique in the future.

While Ndour will indeed be loaned out, it won’t be in Ligue 1. Instead, he arrived in Istanbul last night to join Besiktas. According to Fabrizio Romano, Cher Ndour will be loaned to the Turkish club without an option to buy.

Hopefully, this loan spell will provide him with regular playing time, allowing him to gain valuable experience and return to PSG with a stronger case for securing a place in the Parisian squad.
