PSG's bold new away kit
This new kit features the Hechter design with a touch of modernism. On Tuesday evening, the capital club officially presented the kit they will wear away from home. As leaked online, this jersey will be white with a red and blue drawing of the Eiffel Tower. A pop-up shop on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower has been set up to showcase the jersey and the collection around this away kit.
While it takes inspiration from the home kit design of the 1991-1992 season, this new kit has a unique feature.
As Fabien Allegre, PSG's brand director, explained to Le Parisien, this jersey will be worn for two seasons. "We are very proud of this. We want to establish a piece we believe will become iconic in the wardrobes of our fans. This piece will not be obsolete next year, and we are proud to be the first among the big clubs, who have four collections of jerseys, to make this decision. It aligns with our stance towards the new generation, who are sensitive to these issues."
Le Parisien concludes by explaining that PSG had already recycled their away kit from one season to the next; it was 25 years ago, with a gray away kit that was used for the 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 seasons.
