This Sunday, October 8, PSG visited Rennes at Roazhon Park on the occasion of the MD8 of the French championship. After a painful defeat against Newcastle in the Champions League, Paris would seek to beat the Breton team at home after 5 years of not being able to do so.

For this match Luis Enrique returned to his bases and lined up a hybrid 4-3-3, returning Vitinha to the starting XI. In the run-up, part of the French press saw Randal Kolo Muani as the starter over Ousmane Dembele, but it was finally the 'mosquito' who started.

PSG's starting XI vs. Rennes: Donnarumma – Hakimi, Marquinhos, Skriniar, Hernandez – Zaire-Emery, Ugarte, Vitinha – Dembele, Ramos, Mbappe.

Rennes' starting XI vs. PSG: Mandanda – Assignon, Omari, Theate, Belocian – Bourigeaud, Matic – Blas, Rieder, Gouiri – Kalimuendo.

The first half ended with Paris leading 2-0. It was Vitinha (32') who started by scoring a great goal after great driving and assistance from Dembele. Almost immediately, after an exquisite cross from Zaire-Emery, it was Hakimi (36') who increased the Parisian lead and went into the break.

The match ended with a score of 1-3, in favor of PSG. The scorer of the third Parisian goal was Randal Kolo Muani (58') after a new assist from Hakimi, enabled by Dembele. Therefore, Paris climbs positions in Ligue 1 (third with 15 points) and regains their spirits before the international break that will keep them inactive until October 21 when they face RC Strasbourg in the Parc des Princes.
