PSG projected starting XI to face Stade Rennais this Wednesday
On the eve of the match, the first trends are already emerging for the compositions of the Coupe de France semi-final between PSG and Rennais, which will take place this Wednesday. Lucas Beraldo is notably suspended on the Parisian side.
Back from Marseille in the night from Sunday to Monday, PSG players returned to the Campus as early as Monday at 11 am for a recovery session and strengthening work, while those who did not play against OM had a more intense training session.
Absent at the Velodrome, Nuno Mendes and Marquinhos were present at training this Monday according to L'Equipe, and notably took part in a small opposition. Both are expected to be in the squad to challenge Rennais this Wednesday evening in the Coupe de France semi-final, but no risks will be taken and it is not certain that they will start against the Bretons.
Beraldo suspended for PSG vs. Rennais
Sent off against OM on Sunday evening, Lucas Beraldo will be suspended against Rennais and Luis Enrique has two options to replace him: Lucas Hernandez (if Nuno Mendes can hold his position on the left) and Milan Skriniar, who made his comeback against Marseille on Sunday in the last quarter of an hour but struggled.
For this decisive match, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi, and Danilo Pereira should continue and start. In midfield, we can expect the same trio as against OM, with Warren Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, and Fabian Ruiz. It is also possible that Luis Enrique will continue with Ousmane Dembele in the playmaker position and repeat the duo of Randal Kolo Muani and Kylian Mbappe up front, in wide positions.
- PSG predicted lineup against Rennais: Donnarumma - Hakimi, Danilo, Hernandez, Nuno Mendes - Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Ruiz - Dembele - Kolo Muani, Mbappe.
On the Rennais side, Julien Stephan has decided to start Steve Mandanda in goal according to Le Parisien, he has been a substitute in the Coupe de France since the beginning of the season.
Beaten 2-0 in Strasbourg last weekend, Stade Rennais could switch from their current 4-3-3 formation to a flat 4-4-2 which has often worked well for them this season. Ludovic Blas and Adrien Truffert are back from suspension and should start against PSG.
