PSG player set for early return from international duty

During this international break, Goncalo Ramos is one of the four PSG players called up for the Portugal national team.

After playing the first of two friendly matches, the Portuguese striker was allowed to return to Paris prematurely.

During the international break, Portugal had two friendly matches scheduled. The first was played yesterday against Sweden (5-2 victory), and the second will take place next Tuesday, March 26th against Slovenia.

For these two matches, four PSG players are mobilized: Danilo Pereira, Nuno Mendes, Goncalo Ramos, and Vitinha. This Thursday at the Estadio D. Afonso Henriques in Guimaraes, coach Roberto Martinez fielded Nuno Mendes and Goncalo Ramos as starters.

The left-back played the first half before being replaced by Toti after halftime. The striker, on the other hand, played for an hour before being substituted in the 62nd minute to make way for Jota Silva. The Paris Saint-Germain's number 9 still managed to find the back of the net just before being substituted (61st minute).

He will not be available for next Tuesday's match in Slovenia. Indeed, according to Fabrizio Romano, coach Roberto Martinez released several players who had significant playing time against Sweden: Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Joao Palhinha, Nelson Semedo, Toti Gomes, Rafael Leao, Bruno Fernandes, and Goncalo Ramos.

This presents an opportunity for these players to recover, avoid unnecessary travel, and thus reduce fatigue and recovery time. In this regard, their respective clubs and PSG should welcome back their players fresher for the upcoming fixtures.
