Lionel Messi is currently going through a special moment at 35 years of age. Unstoppable at PSG this season, the Argentine agreed with his club to extend his stay in Paris. This is a setback for FC Barcelona and even Inter Miami, both reportedly determined to try and poach the service of La Pulga in six months.

After finding the arguments to convince Lionel Messi to extend his adventure in Paris, PSG has extinguished all competition for the signature of the superstar. The information was revealed by Le Parisien on Wednesday, December 21, and confirmed in the process by various media, including Mundo Deportivo.

From Catalonia they also evoke a principle of agreement regarding an extension, closed before the end of the World Cup won by Argentina.

The Catalan outlet explains that PSG "are the only club that have expressed an interest, and even submitted a firm proposal" to the 35-year-old player.

As mentioned regularly in recent weeks, FC Barcelona dreamed of a return but has yet to initiate any concrete or direct contact with La Pulga and his relatives.

Barcelona, without real chances of consummating a return of Lionel Messi

According to information from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona's hopes have been marred by the Parisian confidence in Messi's file, and this several weeks after the World Cup in Qatar.

David Beckham has also been trying for several months to convince Messi to join his MLS club, Inter Miami, once his contract expires.

However, Messi's plans for a golden end to his career in the United States seem to have been rejected by the World Cup winner, preferring to delay that trip for one or two seasons at the very least.

Mundo Deportivo adds that "the World Cup has confirmed what the Argentinian thought: he is in perfect physical and playing condition to continue in the highest European category."

And very probably at PSG until the summer of 2024, at least.
