After a long time of hearing multiple rumors of a potential arrival of a coveted and much-needed defender in Paris, football insider Fabrizio Romano killed all the hype on Monday with his latest report about the link between PSG and the player.

"I’m not aware of a PSG interest in Pau Torres, despite rumours," wrote Romano in his newsletter released on Monday morning. This seems to kill (at least for now) all chances of Paris Saint-Germain landing the Spain international ahead of next season.

Romano informed about the rumors linking PSG to the Villarreal defender on Monday after multiple whispers had hit the airwaves and different social networks and rumor websites in the past few days.

According to Romano, "PSG don’t even know who will be the next coach," in a quite revealing and shocking statement made by the Italian journalist. This, also, confirms the perilous and precarious situation of current PSG manager Christophe Galtier at the helm of Paris Saint-Germain.

Will PSG keep or fire Galtier? The decision could determine the signing of Pau Torres

As Romano sees everything, it is "too early to predict concrete transfer targets" linked to PSG. That said, Romano acknowledged that "Pau Torres could be on the move in the summer." Keep the hope alive!

Adding context to his latest update, Romano went on to say that "Manchester United had him on their list last summer," while also reminding his readers that, ultimately, Erik Ten Hag chose a player he knew from his days at Ajax in tiny center-back Lisandro Martinez.

Romano informed that other Premier League clubs, such as "Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham" also "explored" a potential transfer deal for the Spanish defender who currently plays at Villarreal of La Liga.

While he thinks it is still early to make any solid prediction, Romano finished his article writing that Pau Torres "will be one to watch again this summer" when rumors and season plans start to emerge across Europe.
