PSG is reportedly close to securing its second summer signing in the form of Joao Neves. While there was talk of Renato Sanches being included in the deal, it now appears that Sanches will join Benfica in a separate operation.
For several weeks, Joao Neves has been linked with PSG. The 19-year-old Portuguese midfielder is a top priority for the club to strengthen their midfield. However, PSG's negotiations with Benfica have encountered some stubborn resistance.

PSG nears signing Joao Neves amid separate Sanches deal
Initially, Benfica demanded €120 million, the amount of Joao Neves's release clause, to let their young talent go. These demands have since been lowered. In recent days, there have been reports of an agreement being close between the two clubs.
On Saturday evening, Fabrice Hawkins reported that barring any last-minute changes, Joao Neves is expected to sign a five-year contract with PSG soon. "Negotiations between the two clubs are progressing well, and they are very close to a complete agreement, which will allow Joao Neves to travel to Paris for his medical," stated the RMC Sport journalist.
He mentioned that the transfer is expected to be below €100 million. "Luis Campos and Luis Enrique have demonstrated their ability to convince the young 19-year-old Portuguese." Hawkins also discussed the future of Renato Sanches. While recent rumors suggested Sanches's inclusion in the Joao Neves deal, the former Bayern Munich player is expected to join Benfica, his boyhood club, in a separate transaction. The structure of this deal is still being finalized, concluded Fabrice Hawkins.
