PSG's transfer market activities are bustling with various potential signings, yet there seems to be a notable absence of moves to strengthen their defense. This situation is unlikely to change anytime soon.
For several weeks, Dean Huijsen's name has been persistently linked with Paris Saint-Germain. Despite the acquisitions of Milan Skriniar and Lucas Hernandez last summer, and Luca Beraldo during the winter, the capital club's defense still requires attention.
The 19-year-old Spanish defender, currently with Juventus Turin, has caught the eye of PSG. Standing at 1.95 meters, Huijsen recently completed an underwhelming loan stint with AS Roma. His impressive profile has attracted interest from several clubs, including Wolfsburg, Stuttgart, Bayern Munich, and Premier League's Bournemouth.

PSG misses out on defensive target Dean Huijsen
Recent reports from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio suggest that Huijsen had to choose between the English club and Stuttgart. In doing so, he waited for a signal indicating a more prestigious opportunity. While PSG isn't explicitly named as this more prestigious solution, their interest aligns with this criterion. However, the prospect of Huijsen joining PSG has dimmed.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a verbal agreement has been reached between Bournemouth and Juventus for an €18 million transfer. Juventus included a buy-back clause in this deal. The player is expected to sign a long-term contract with Bournemouth after completing his medical examination. Once Huijsen's transfer is finalized, Juventus plans to swiftly make an offer to OGC Nice for Jean-Clair Todibo.
While PSG continues to explore various transfer opportunities, the reinforcement of their defense remains an unresolved issue. Dean Huijsen’s imminent move to Bournemouth is a clear indication that PSG might need to shift their focus if they aim to bolster their defensive line this summer.
