PSG have set the pace yet again this Ligue 1 campaign winning both of their league games against Le Havre and Montpellier. The French champion scored six against Montpellier and four against Le Havre.
Despite not playing against the best of opposition so far this season stamping their authority so early can only bode well. Here at PSG Post, we delve into whether Luis Enrique's side plays better without their talisman Kylian Mbappe.
1. More players are flourishing
PSG already has seven different goal-scorers this season. This is a testament to how much Luis Enrique is getting out of the team without the services of Mbappe. There is a more even spread of goals as they aren't reliant on a specific player in contrast to last campaign.
Bradley Barcola is the player that has thrived the most in Kylian Mbappe's absence. In the two games he has played, he scored three goals which is remarkable given that he did not start both games. Barcola showed flashes of brilliance every time he came on for France at the Euros, particularly in the semi-finals against Spain where he completed all of his dribbles.
2. The team is more focused without Mbappe
When the French captain was at the club attention was always drawn to when he would complete his move to Real Madrid. It would understandably be hard to focus our your league and European campaign when your star player is flirting with a move to the European champions.
Now that Mbappe has left there is less drama and pressure on the club since fans and pundits aren't expecting much from the French champions this season.
