In light of recent reports by L'Equipe indicating PSG's interest in securing a much-needed left-back during the upcoming winter transfer window, RMC Sport added another layer to the ongoing conversation, mentioning a potential midfield reinforcement arriving in January.

Under the management of Luis Enrique, PSG has witnessed a resurgence deploying a better, offensive playing style, contrasting the lackluster months under Mauricio Pochettino and Christophe Galtier during the past two seasons.

Nevertheless, recent defeats against Newcastle (4-1) and Milan (2-1) in Europe have brought the team's shortcomings to the forefront, prompting the Parisian leadership to consider bolstering the squad in the upcoming transfer window.

L'Equipe highlighted PSG's interest in a left-back to cover for the long-term absence of Nuno Mendes, expected to return in 2024. That would allow Lucas Hernandez, a natural center-back, to shift to his preferred position in the middle of the defense.

RMC Sport confirmed the rumors while acknowledging the desire for reinforcements in defense and midfield, although according to RMC, PSG is still undecided between signing a central defender or a left-sided player.

Adding more nuance, RMC Sport reports PSG's intention to strengthen the midfield, having recognizing a lack of depth and the need for reliable rotation options behind Warren Zaire-Emery, Manuel Ugarte, Vitinha, and Kang-In Lee.

However, this latest report falls short of specifying the exact player profile PSG is scouting for the midfield signing, leaving the question open regarding whether the team aims for a defensive or a creative midfielder.

While PSG's attack remains untouched in the winter transfer window plans, the report concludes that the club's budget is limited, and therefore the arrival (or lack of it) is still pending confirmation.
