PSG have actively searched for a top-tier striker during this summer transfer window, and one name that has emerged when everything seemed to be dead on that front is Benfica's Goncalo Ramos, who is close to joining PSG according to RMC Sport.

The 22-year-old Portuguese international had an impressive season with Benfica last year, scoring 27 goals and assisting 12 more through 47 matches.

Late Wednesday reports suggested that PSG had intensified their pursuit of Ramos, despite initially prioritizing Harry Kane, who now seems inclined to join Bayern Munich.

According to RMC Sport, PSG have already made an offer and even "reached an agreement" with the player. However, the real challenge lies in convincing Benfica to part ways with their star striker. The Portuguese club is reportedly demanding a hefty €80m fee for the young forward, and they are not willing to go lower than that figure.

PSG are also considering the acquisition of Bradley Barcola, and have already sealed the arrival of Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona.

All of those moves also point toward the exit of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar if only to balance the club accounts and comply with Financial Fair Play rules.

As negotiations intensify, PSG are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to secure the services of a top-notch striker like Goncalo Ramos.

The summer transfer window will remain open for nearly a month, so there is still plenty of time for PSG to close all of the pathways they are exploring and bring some more talent to Paris.
