PSG will host the 2023 Champions Trophy against Toulouse at the Parc des Princes, according to the latest decision by the LFP, reports Le Parisien.

The clash between the Ligue 1 champions (PSG) and the Coupe de France winners, Toulouse FC, is scheduled for January 3, 2024, and it's looking like it will take place in Paris.

Originally planned for last summer in Thailand, logistical issues forced a change in venue, leading to considerations in the Middle East and even the Democratic Republic of Congo. In the latter's case, the Martyrs of Pentecost stadium was the venue pitched to host the game.

However, PSG advocated against a lengthy journey to an outside, warmer destination next January, prompting the LFP to dismiss the African proposal for this season.

The LFP has been weighing two prominent options for the 2023 game, the Stadium de Toulouse which hosts the games of the club, and the Parc des Princes in Paris, which PSG insisted on using because of the larger capacity.

Ultimately, and judging by the latest reports, it looks like Paris will prevail and secure the home advantage to kick off the new year in 2024 by hosting the Trophee des Champions.
