The career of Marco Verratti appears to be veering away from PSG just days before the summer transfer window slams shut. The Italian midfielder's journey might lead him to Qatar, with PSG reportedly in agreement for his transfer to Al Arabi.

A decade after joining the French champions, the romance between Verratti and PSG is on the cusp of conclusion. In a meeting held on August 9, both Luis Campos and Luis Enrique conveyed to several players, Verratti included, that their destinies might unfold beyond Paris.

Left without an appearance under the Spanish manager since his arrival in July, making it now three consecutive missed games of Ligue 1 play, the former Pescara player is on the verge of leaving the club.

"For the first time this transfer window, the prevailing feeling is strongly leaning towards the departure of the Italian international," asserts RMC Sport.

Verratti's read on the situation is clear: he envisions no place for himself in a club that has seemingly lost interest in retaining him, so he better bolt away than remain warming the bench.

Even though influential figures within the team expressed support for Verratti, PSG have lost all interest in the aging, partying midfielder, and the organization is expected to follow the original course of action concerning the veteran.

RMC further notes that "Marco Verratti was recently informed that he does not figure in PSG's plans for this season." This resonated with the 2021 European champion, who now contemplates a future away from a club that once held him in high regard. Verratti, mind you, is under contract at PSG through June 2026.

A target of Saudi Arabia clubs at first, it's now Qatar the country that has emerged as a potential destination. Al Arabi, based in Doha, have been persistent in luring Verratti to the Qatar Stars League.

In recent days, they have intensified their efforts, presenting a solid offer to PSG. "The two clubs are on the brink of agreeing upon a compensation package of €45m including bonuses," RMC reported on Wednesday.

It's believed that both Verratti and PSG will end up accepting Al Arabi's bid and contract terms and complete a transfer before the end of the transfer window.
