As the winter transfer window approaches its closure, PSG maintains its ambition to recruit a central defender, but the task proves to be complicated.

Radio France, through its journalist Julien Froment, stated on Tuesday that PSG's market was closed for incoming transfers after the winter signings of Lucas Beraldo and Gabriel Moscardo (immediately loaned to Corinthians).

Although RMC Sport confirms that it is not ruled out that no additional player will arrive in Paris before Thursday at 23:59, the media ensures that PSG still hopes to sign a central defender before the transfer window closes.

RMC Sport argues that PSG is exploring various options, but at the moment, there is no standout name. Luis Campos had made Leny Yoro his priority, but Lille has firmly shut the door for this winter, and there is no possibility of unlocking it before tomorrow night.

The mentioned outlet reported that Jorge Mendes, the new agent of Lille's central defender, discussed the matter with Nasser Al-Khelaïfi last week in Doha, but it was not enough to convince the northerners, who remain unwavering.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi is still in Qatar, where an executive committee of the ECA is currently taking place, with invitations extended to FIFA, AFC, and the European Leagues Association. Luis Campos is also present, and PSG has several matters to handle regarding departures before the market closes: the potential loan with an option to buy Hugo Ekitike to Frankfurt, Noha Lemina's move to Wolverhampton, as well as the Layvin Kurzawa situation, with the club hoping for a swift departure.
