Defender Grades

5 - Sergio Ramos: Solid on the back, though quite as much against Bayern a few days ago as Sunday's game presented an entirely different type of action. He still showcased his defensive chops here and there, broke some plays, and blocked some shots through the first period.

2 - Kimpembe: Awful. Captained the team even with Kylian Mbappe in perhaps to kill any controversy before even giving it a chance to pop up. Incredibly bad timing defending, arriving late in some actions, putting teammates (Gigio) in danger... Also missed a couple of assignments on defense, one of those leading up to the first goal by Lille. Day to forget.

5 - Nuno Mendes: Hard to say how he played logging only 25 minutes of play, but he was on the pitch through the brightest stretch by PSG so he can't miss on at least an average/good grade. The injury sucks because it might leave him off the Classique against OM next weekend and he's been in impressive form of late.

3 - Pembele: Can't give him the pass because the right flank was absolutely non-existent with him on the pitch. Having Pembele on the field helps the opposition forget about the right side of PSG's attack because it is like Pembele wasn't even there. Didn't have any glaring defensive errors but the overall performance was lacking at best.

(Sub) 6 - Bernat: As good as ever coming off the bench. He knows his role and always delivers good performances when called upon. Assisted Kylian Mbappe on his second goal and the one that tied the match with five minutes left in regulation.
