With the 2022/23 season over and already a few days in the rearview mirror, it's time to reflect on the year that was around Paris Saint-Germain. Neymar - 2022/23 Season Review

As is always the case with Neymar, the Brazil international couldn't finish the campaign after suffering a season-ending ankle injury having appeared in 20 Ligue 1 matches before that fateful day. Neymar started 18 of them, averaging 78 minutes of playing time per game.

Neymar's attacking prowess was evident as he scored an impressive 13 goals, surpassing the expected goal metric by a considerable margin. He found the back of the net approximately every 119 minutes, resulting in a goals-per-game ratio of 0.7. His goal conversion rate stood at a respectable 34%. Notably, all of his goals came from inside the box.

In addition to his goal-scoring ability, Neymar proved to be a valuable playmaker, providing 11 assists to his teammates. He completed 49.1 accurate passes per game, with an overall success rate of 83%. Neymar exhibited his usual top-level vision and creativity on the field, contributing significantly to the attacking phase of the game of PSG.

Although Neymar's defensive numbers may not be outstanding, his presence was felt throughout the season on both sides of play, and in fact, the Brazilian could be considered the more willing to defend of the MNM all year long.

The Champions League campaign wasn't very thrilling for Ney, as he could only appear in five games of the eight played by PSG while only logging 90 minutes in the Round of 16 matchup against Bayern.
