Injured at the last minute for the World Cup, PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe is still suffering from pain in his Achilles tendon. According to L'Equipe, the Frenchman could miss the match against Strasbourg in the return of Ligue 1 in late December.

Recovery is taking quite a while for Presnel Kimpembe, although on a good note it sounds like he has not suffered any setbacks. Victim of persistent discomfort in the right Achilles tendon, the center-back had to give up his participation in the World Cup with the French team.

At the same time, the Frenchman took special care to return to competition as soon as possible. However, this might not be enough to play for the capital club again at the end of December.

Recently, L'Equipe claimed that the Beaumont-sur-Oise native still has pain that he continues to treat. Although most of the players available have resumed group training with the group, the 27-year-old defender will have to wait to return to the pitch.

Still, according to the sports newspaper, the return to competition against Strasbourg on December 28 is moving away for the left-central although he is not yet definitively ruled out.

Presnel Kimpembe might not recover in time to play for PSG through the remainder of 2022 while recovering from his Achilles injury

While his presence is not guaranteed at the reception of the Alsatian club in the Parc des Princes, Presnel Kimpembe should not be able to participate in the mid-season training camp currently ongoing at the Camp des Loges.

The Parisians will face Paris FC (Ligue 2) on Friday before taking on Quevilly Rouen Metropole (Ligue 2) on December 21. Obviously, Kimpembe is expected to remain out of those two friendlies as a precautionary measure to not further damage/keep recovering his Achilles for a few more days and weeks.

PSG won't play any more games in the 2022 calendar year after facing Strasbourg in the Ligue 1 return after Christmas, so Kimpembe is still at risk of not playing a single game for PSG through the remainder of the year.
