OGC Nice and Terem Moffi surprise PSG and take a 2-3 victory
- PSG's first defeat of the season...
- Nice, led by Terem Moffi, surprised Paris
- Luis Enrique's men fall before the Champions League
This Friday, September 15, PSG received OGC Nice at the Parc des Princes, on the occasion of the MD5 of the French championship. Without Marco Asensio, a starter in the last two games, Luis Enrique's team would present, in any case, a fairly competitive starting XI.
Having returned late after international activity, Marquinhos and Manuel Ugarte did not start. Paris Saint-Germain presented the following lineup, in the usual 4-3-3 system; Donnarumma โ Hakimi, Danilo, Skriniar, Hernandez โ Soler, Zaire-Emery, Vitinha โ Dembele, Ramos, Mbappe.
The first half did not go well at all for the Parisian team. The Spanish strategist's system did not seem to bear fruit as it did against Lyon and Lens. In any case, and despite conceding a goal after a loss of the ball by Kylian Mbappe (21'), it would be the same French forward who would be in charge of equalizing the score at 29'.
The second half would start even worse for Paris. The visiting team pressed well, and their effort paid off at (53') with a score by Gaetan Laborde, courtesy of an individual play by Terem Moffi. The same forward would seal the win after awful coverage by Lucas Hernandez (68'). Minutes before the end, Mbappe closed the gap with a great goal (87'), from an assist from Randal Kolo Muani.
The match ended with a score of 2-3, in favor of the visiting team. Thus, Nice broke PSG's unbeaten streak. Luis Enrique's men will then arrive with a record of two draws, two wins, and one defeat at the start of their 2022-2023 European adventure. Paris will host Borussia Dortmund this coming Tuesday, on the occasion of the MD1 of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
