Paris Saint-Germain have announced the departure of Marina Georgieva as she joins Italian side Fiorentina on a one-year deal.

After just one year since her arrival, Georgieva's time at PSG comes to an end, despite having a contract until the Summer of 2024.

The Austrian international never really became a key part of PSG's line-ups, making only eight appearances overall for them.

Marina becomes the latest player to exit the capital club, which is not the biggest surprise when considering her first season.

And with PSG already bringing in new defenders to play alongside Sakina Karchaoui and Elisa De Almeida, it would seem quite sure that if she had stayed, her season would be very similar to the last one - very little game time.

The 26-year-old now permanently joins Fiorentina, where a regular starting position would seem more possible.

Overall, the best outcome for both PSG and Georgieva. Though this partnership only lasted 12 months, the situation wouldn't have been likely to change.

At this current moment, Georgieva has not spoken about her exit, which was announced on the evening of Friday by the club.

We wish the best of luck to Marina Georgieva with her new journey!
