Marco Verratti, the PSG midfielder and Italy international, has decided to leave Paris Saint-Germain after spending 11 years in the French capital in order to join Qatar side Al Arabi, the club announced on Wednesday, Sept. 13.

Arriving in Paris at the age of 19, the playmaker endeared himself to the fans with his skills and style. Under Carlo Ancelotti's guidance, Verratti rapidly became a key figure, contributing to PSG's Ligue 1 triumph in 2013 and making his mark in the UEFA Champions League.

Verratti's trophy cabinet grew over the years, highlighted by consecutive trebles in 2015 and 2016. Verratti leaves PSG having won a staggering 30 trophies and as PSG's most decorated player. His 416 appearances place him second in the club's all-time appearances list, although Marquinhos will soon overtake him.

As Verratti embarks on a new chapter with Al Arabi, he leaves behind a solid legacy. "I'll forever be a Parisian," he declared.
