PSG has officially announced the signing of 20-year-old Brazilian defender Lucas Beraldo from Sao Paulo as part of their winter transfer business on Jan. 1 as the market opened in Europe.

The announcement, made today, also revealed Beraldo's contract at PSG with the youngster agreeing to a four-and-a-half-year contract with PSG running through June 2028.

Beraldo, a left-footed central defender, will be given the number 35 jersey at PSG to start his career in France.

While none of the two clubs have made the financial details of the transfer public, media estimates suggest a transfer fee of around €20 million with no additional bonuses added to that tag. This transaction will see Beraldo play outside of Brazil for the first time in his career.

The official announcement of Beraldo's transfer coincided with PSG's New Year's greetings, perhaps trying to inadvertedly sneak one thing over the other (?).

Speaking about the move, Beraldo expressed his excitement on the official PSG website. “I am very happy to join a club as ambitious as Paris Saint-Germain.

"This is an important step in my career, which will help me progress.

"I can't wait to get to know my new teammates and take my first steps in this jersey,” he finished.
