Paris Saint-Germain have announced the exit of manager Gerard Precheur, just one year after his appointment.
Gerard Precheur was brought in as head coach during the summer of 2022, on a one-year contract. with an option to extend. But with the 23/24 season already underway and a big game coming up on Sunday against Lyon, surely it would have been assumed Precheur would carry on staying in charge of the team for now.
A statement released by the club confirms otherwise, as the statement reads, " For personal reasons, and in agreement with PSG, Gerard Precheur has stood down as head coach of the women's team. "
" We would like to thank Gerard Precheur for his commitment and the work done over the last 14 months."
Of course, these personal reasons are unknown, but what is known is that his time at the club is officially over, and the club will search for a new manager but currently have a replacement to take over.
" The remainder of the technical staff remain in place and will continue their mission with the professional women's team squad. Jocelyn Precheur, assistant until this point, will take charge."
Jocelyn Precheur, son of Gerard Precheur, is now in charge of the team, and in his first words as head coach, Jocelyn commented, " I will have to keep the band. Work and guidelines will not change. "
Jocelyn already has a big task ahead of him, as current French Champions Lyon are the next game that PSG will attempt to get points from.
