PSG visited Monaco a couple of weeks ago to play a Ligue 1 game in what ended up being another defeat (3-1) at the hands of the Monegasque. That wasn't nearly the worst thing happening in the guts of the Paris Saint-Germain organization, though, with Neymar and Luis Campos getting into a locker-room squabble.
Neymar and PSG's sports advisor Luis Campos had a heated exchange at the halftime break of that defeat on Feb. 11 at Monaco, with Marquinhos siding with his fellow Brazil international and going against the egocentric Campos.
A few days after that fight was leaked by the media and before the game against Bayern Munich, Neymar confirmed it indeed happened in the pre-game press conference.
“[Campos and I] did not agree. It happens every day, but I love it all. It's like with my girlfriend. Soccer is not just love and friendship. There is respect, but arguments happen."
Neymar to Campos: “It’s not up to you to talk to me, you’re not my coach”
According to Le Parisien and as it's been widely reported for months on end, Campos was in favor of selling Neymar last summer even though PSG extended the contract of the Brazil international until the end of the 2026/27 season. No suitors came calling, so Neymar stayed in Paris for this campaign.
On Wednesday, and after the McPokergate, new information about the Monaco fight emerged and got leaked including the words spat by Neymar against Campos. “It’s not up to you to talk to me, you’re not my coach,” reportedly shouted Neymar.
Neymar is willing to fulfill his contract with PSG until it runs out in the summer of 2027, although talks with Chelsea have already happened for a potential move of the Brazilian genius to the Premier League ahead of next season.
