Newcastle's interest in a PSG forward denied by the English press

Newcastle's interest in Hugo Ekitike has resurfaced, according to reports from Caught Offside. Despite disagreements between the English club and the Parisian player in the summer of 2022, there are suggestions that Newcastle is reconsidering the possibility of signing Ekitike.

Paris Saint-Germain secured his services on loan with a purchase option. The Premier League's Newcastle United had been closely monitoring this footballer for a while, but Ekitike chose to stay in France.

Hugo had kept Magpies' decision-makers on edge before ultimately committing to PSG. Recently, reports of renewed interest from Newcastle in the 21-year-old player have emerged. However, journalist Luke Edwards from The Telegraph swiftly debunked this information.

According to the latest reports, Newcastle was interested in securing Hugo Ekitike on loan with an option to buy starting in January. However, journalist Ben Jacobs indicated that PSG would prefer a permanent transfer, valued between 35 and 40 million euros. Edwards discredited these rumors with a simple tweet.

Disheartened by the rejection from the Parisian club, Hugo Ekitike has not played a single minute so far this season. His refusal to move to Eintracht Frankfurt last summer disappointed PSG. If the transfer to Newcastle doesn't materialize, he will likely leave the Parisian team in January 2024, expressing a preference for an English club.
