Nasser Al-Khelaifi discussed PSG signings and the future of Mbappe
In an exclusive interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi discussed multiple topics, from player contracts to the burgeoning popularity of padel and his interest in the sport.
Regarding goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma's return to San Siro, Al-Khelaifi stated, "We had already tried to recruit Donnarumma two or three years ago. Gigio is one of the best goalkeepers in the world."
Discussing PSG's evolution, he emphasized, "More than a revolution, it's an evolution. We aim for the top, always looking to improve. We have a new long-term philosophy based on the collective."
Addressing Kylian Mbappe's potential contract extension, Al-Khelaifi praised him, saying, "Kylian is the best in the world. It's great to see him at the head of PSG and France."
On 17-year-old Warren Zaire-Emery, Al-Khelaifi stated, "Don't compare him to anyone, he's unique. He's carving his own path. Our new training center is at the heart of the next phase of his development."
As president of the ECA, he dismissed the threat from Saudi football, focusing on UEFA's competitions and labeling him as the best the world of football has to offer.
Closing the interview, Al-Khelaifi discussed the rapid development of padel across the world, expressing excitement for upcoming events in Milan and Rome, where PSG is installing courts. He added, "I may delay opening until my knee is repaired."
