PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi attended the unveiling of Portuguese side Braga's new training center on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023. It's worth noting that PSG became an "indirect" shareholder of the Iberian club last year owing to Qatar Sports Investments (QSI).

QSI, which also owns Paris Saint-Germain, acquired a 21.67% stake in Braga in Dec. 2022. Despite QSI's limited involvement in the Portuguese side, which is currently in 9th place in the league, Al-Khelaifi made a special trip to Braga for the inauguration of the club's training center earlier this week.

Antonio Salvador, the president of Braga, emphasized the significance of the new facilities, viewing them as vital for Portugal's aspirations to host the 2030 World Cup in a joint-bid with Spain, Morocco, and Ukrainie.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, in his capacity as the CEO of QSI, echoed these sentiments, commending the club's remarkable efforts to build new facilities that will not only help their particular organization but also the country in their efforts to stage the 2030 World Cup.

Among the attendees, there was also Antero Henrique, the former Sports Director of PSG, who had been distanced from the club due to strained relations with the current man in that position, Luis Campos.

QSI strategically placed Henrique in Braga last winter to facilitate and nurture the connections and relationship between PSG and the Portuguese side.
