Marquinhos, confident contract extension with PSG "will be done soon"
Brazil international and PSG defender and captain Marquinhos played his 400th game for Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday on the lawn of Nice in a 2-0 win by PSG. Speaking after the game, Marquinhos said he is "confident" his contract with the team "will be done soon."
The Allianz Riviera witnessed Marquinhos flip another 100-game page and extend his resume and list of accolades since he started donning Parisian threads almost 10 years ago when he arrived from Italy's side AS Roma.
Now, Marquinhos is on the verge of extending his stay in Paris until the summer of 2027. That is what the defender said after the game against Nice, as quoted by journalist Fabrizio Romano.
"Marquinhos confirms his new deal with PSG is set to be signed," wrote Romano while quoting the very own Marquinhos saying "I hope it will be done soon, I’m confident—we’re at the final stages and details”.
According to the football insider, the new contract is "expected to be valid until June 2027," with Marquinhos' current deal set to expire in June 2024.
