Manuel Ugarte expected to be unveiled by PSG on Monday
PSG's summer transfer window got off to an exciting start with the acquisition of Manuel Ugarte from Sporting CP of Portugal after the Parisian paid a €60m release clause attached to his name.
The signing is believed to have been pursued by PSG's sporting advisor Luis Campos due to his Portuguese connections.
In early June, Ugarte traveled to Paris to undergo a medical examination, along with fellow signee Marco Asensio. However, the official announcement is still pending. That might soon change, though.
According to Record, a renowned Portuguese sports daily, the wait could be over by Monday with Ugarte's signing with PSG expected to be made official to kick July off next week.
The report also reveals that both clubs have reached an agreement regarding the payment terms for his release clause.
The only thing delaying the official announcement of the signing is, according to Record, Ugarte wants to bid farewell to his current teammates at the Lisbon club's training center. Ugarte will make one final visit to them before the announcement.
Afterward, he will make his way to Paris and is expected to join the PSG training sessions scheduled to resume on July 10, a week after his official (reported) unveiling on Monday, July 3.
