Luis Enrique on Kylian Mbappe's future speculations: "I don't care"
Inquiries about the future of star striker Kylian Mbappe were met with a succinct response from PSG coach Luis Enrique, who opted not to dwell extensively on the subject.
As Mbappe became eligible to commit to the club of his choice from January 1st, the spotlight intensified on the French forward's next move. While the Parisian number 7 is currently focused on the ongoing season with Paris, his coach remains pragmatic about the situation, as expressed in an interview with Prime Video (h/t Canal Supporters) on Sunday night.
"Is he bothered by all the media turmoil surrounding Kylian Mbappe's future? Do you know how long I've been in the elite of world football? Five years in Madrid, and eight in Barcelona as a player. As a coach, six in Barcelona, at Roma and Celta Vigo, and I also played at Sporting Gijon. I've always lived in dressing rooms where there were stories about one thing or another. Rumors, lies... I'm used to it, and I don't care," shared Luis Enrique in the interview.
Further discussing the team's playing style, Luis Enrique expressed satisfaction, stating, "It's clear that with a group of players of this level ready to play as you wish, and when they fully adhere to this idea, it's easier to get results. It's one of my characteristics as a coach: to play in a certain way, and for my teams to be identifiable."
Luis Enrique's composed response sheds light on his seasoned perspective amidst the media frenzy surrounding Mbappé's uncertain future. While rumors and speculations swirl, the coach remains steadfast in his focus on the current season and the performance of his team on the pitch.
