Luis Enrique spoke to the Spanish channel Movistar Plus+ just a week before the release of the documentary series dedicated to him.

The interview will air this Monday, and the channel has shared a clip on social media in which the PSG coach reflects on the double confrontation against Barcelona last season in the Champions League.

There's less than a week to go before the highly anticipated documentary series on Luis Enrique is released. This three-episode series will be broadcast on the Spanish channel Movistar Plus+ on Monday, September 30, starting at 10 PM. In the meantime, the channel will air an interview with the PSG coach this Monday, September 23, also at 10 PM.

On its social accounts, Movistar Plus+ released a snippet of this interview. Luis Enrique discusses his reunion with FC Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the last Champions League. The former player and coach of Barcelona found the experience difficult, despite the happy outcome for PSG:

"The double confrontation against Barcelona was horrible. It was too emotional. Returning home was a joy, but coming back against the club that gave me the most as a player and coach was an awful feeling. It was a terrible feeling for me, but also for my children and my wife."

This season, FC Barcelona is not among the eight opponents PSG will face in the new phase of the Champions League, and Luis Enrique hopes he won't cross paths with his former club later in the competition:

"I hope not to play against them this season. I can’t imagine a final against Barcelona. I hope that doesn’t happen."

While Barcelona is leading La Liga with 18 points from 18 possible after six matches and a goal difference of +17, Hansi Flick's side suffered a 2-1 defeat against AS Monaco in their first Champions League match after going down to ten men following Eric Garcia's red card in the 10th minute.
