Newcastle United is set to face Paris Saint-Germain, coming off an impressive 5-2 victory over AS Monaco on Friday night at Parc des Princes. For the Ligue 1 giants, a win against the Magpies would almost certainly secure their spot in the round of 16.

Vitinha, who scored in PSG's triumph, shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash with the Premier League side. The Portuguese international emphasized that the French giants are well-prepared for Newcastle.

“PSG are well prepared for the Newcastle match,” Vitinha told Prime Video (h/t Culture PSG). “We can’t wait to play it, and I hope the atmosphere at the Parc will be incredible; we will need that on Tuesday; it is going to be a crazy match.”

Meanwhile, coach Luis Enrique also commented on the upcoming match against Newcastle.

"It's always very difficult to play after the international break," Enrique told reporters (h/t Culture PSG). "But I have to say that the effort put in by the players was excellent. The result is perfect against one of the best teams in the league. We managed to assert ourselves in this way."

PSG aims to avenge their 4-1 defeat in October at St. James' Park. What works in favor of the Parisians is that Newcastle won't have the support of their home crowd this time.

Additionally, the English club has recorded two victories in their last six matches across all competitions, including two defeats against Borussia Dortmund, putting their chances of advancing in a desperate situation. The loser between Newcastle and PSG could bid farewell to the round of 16 definitively.
