Logically much criticized for his choice to have lined up a 4-2-4 with four attackers on the Newcastle pitch (4-1), PSG coach Luis Enrique did not regret his choice in any way after the match, always considering that it was the right thing to do.

This match seemed like a nightmare for PSG, heavily defeated in Newcastle (4-1). How did you live it?

“As a coach, you can experience these types of difficult games. Our attitude at the beginning of the game was very good. We performed very well under pressure and managed to overcome the pressure from Newcastle. We had the first opportunity through Ousmane (5'). Honestly, in my opinion, the result is partly unfair, but that's football. The result is not entirely unfair and I congratulate Newcastle, but I find it excessive.”

Why not change the tactical system by eliminating one of the four attackers in the second half?

“Because I thought it was the best for the team. I still believe it.”

The serious problem is not trying and failing, but trying, failing, and not learning. That is what part of the PSG fans fear will happen with Luis Enrique who continued to appear confident that his tactics were the right ones.

In the end, the results are there. Newcastle beat PSG, and the first analyses point to the same thing; Unnecessary accumulation of forwards, depopulated midfield, Hakimi and Hernandez out of position... We will see if there are corrections.
