Morocco experienced a devastating earthquake overnight from Friday to Saturday, resulting in the tragic loss of more than a thousand lives. In honor of the victims of this catastrophe, Ligue 1 stadiums will observe a one-minute silence during the upcoming MD5 next weekend.

A powerful earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale struck Morocco during the night from Friday to Saturday, leading to a heart-wrenching loss of many hundreds of lives.

Across the football community and beyond, tributes and condolences are pouring in.

The French Professional Football League announced a solemn gesture of respect will be paid next weekend in all stadiums. Prior to each match of MD5 in Ligue 1 and MD6 in Ligue 2, a minute of silence will be observed next weekend.

The league expressed in an official statement, "In memory of the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck Morocco, all kick-off times for the matches will be preceded by a moment of meditation."
