Leandro Paredes set to join Mauro Icardi in Turkiye?
With PSG making several official signings to date, the club now needs to address the sale of players to both give some room to the newcomers and also ease the organization's coffers after such a big expenditure.
Following Mauro Icardi's expected move to Galatasaray, the Turkish club is now seriously considering the acquisition of midfielder Leandro Paredes.
According to the latest reports, Galatasaray want to reunite the former PSG players and they have already submitted Paredes a contract offer for the next three seasons, and they're currently waiting for the player's answer.
Several European and Saudi clubs have shown interest in Paredes following his triumphal 2022 World Cup campaign. The preferred option by the player emerging in recent days appears to be Galatasaray, though.
According to Loic Tanzi in L'Equipe, following Mauro Icardi's transfer from Paris for a fee of €10m, the Istanbul-based club aims to land another Argentinian outcast from PSG.
Galatasaray has reportedly offered Paredes a three-year contract, but the midfielder is waiting to see if other previously interested clubs, such as Lazio or Atletico Madrid, show activity in pursuing his transfer, which he'd like the most.
In terms of negotiations between PSG and Galatasaray, no issues are expected to arise as an agreement "has already been reached," wrote Tanzi. L'Equipe mentions a transfer fee of around €6m, significantly lower than the €40m PSG paid in 2019 to acquire Paredes in the first place.
No matter the loss, it's obvious that PSG want and actually must get rid of some players ahead of next season if they don't want to be paying huge salaries to players that could barely get to play a few minutes, if any, through the development of the season across all competitions for the French club in 2023-24.
