The annual UNFP Awards gala for this season was held on Sunday night, and PSG Feminine had multiple players nominated in most categories.
2022/23 UNFP Winners
Best Young Player: Laurina Fazer
The young Parisian player was named the Best Young Player of the 2022/23 season. This is her second time in a row claiming this honor.
Fazer once again proved her immense talent on her way to becoming one of the greatest players to ever grace a football stadium.
The French midfielder played 29 matches throughout the season and she helped PSG win 19 games. Fazer has also scored one goal during her time spent on the pitch.
Best Goalkeeper: Christiane Endler (Lyon)
Best Player: Delphine Cascarino (Lyon)
Best XI of the Season
GK: Christiane Endler
Defenders: Ellie Carpenter, Wendie Renard, Elisa De Almeida, Sakina Karchaoui
Midfielders: Lea Le Garreg, Lindsey Horran, Grace Geyoro
Forwards: Rosemonde Kouassi, Kadidiatou Diani, Delphine Cascarino
A total of four Paris Saint-Germain players were named to the season's Best XI.
One of the night's biggest surprises was Diani not winning the Player of the Season award. A few weeks ago, Diani had the pleasure of winning this honor for the D1 Arkema awards but wasn't victorious on Sunday to the eyes of the UNFP.
Lyon's Cascarino was given this prestigious award, a worthy winner after her commendable season.
After the season Diani produced, it's quite a shame she didn't end up winning the coveted award. The player's stats have been her best and, indeed, one of the best in Europe this season with 17 goals in 17 matches and the second-most assists provided before injury.
Kadidiatou kept this PSG side in contention for trophies despite all odds due to the squad's disadvantages. She perfectly took over for Marie-Antoinette Katoto, who hasn't played a single this season.
Diani can still be proud of her season either way and so can PSG fans who weren't too pleased with the trophy not being awarded to their beloved player.
