In its latest edition, L'Equipe reveals the uncertainty surrounding PSG's forward Kylian Mbappe's future in Paris. The sports daily spills the beans, asserting that Mbappe is eager to join Real Madrid, with the feeling being mutual from the Spanish giants.
L'Equipe hints at a cunning plan by Real Madrid, suggesting they may wait until the last moments of the transfer window (Sep. 1) to snatch Mbappe at a bargain price, much to the chagrin of PSG who are eager to offload their star striker now for a hefty fee.
Shockingly, PSG and Real Madrid have not engaged in direct talks, reports L'Equipe, because the relationship between both organizations is completely broken.
In order to clear that hurdle, the newspaper revealed that "a secret intermediary" has been brought to the negotiations to try and gauge the situation from all parties involved.
While PSG is open to offers, they have already accepted a whopping €300m proposal from Al-Hilal, though the Saudi club is facing an uphill battle to convince Mbappe as the superstar definitely doesn't want to leave Europe.
European powerhouses like Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Inter Milan, and Barcelona have all approached PSG for inquiries. However, Chelsea and Man Utd seem to have already backed off because of both the fee demanded by PSG and the wages Mbappe would command.
Mbappe seems to be holding the key to his future, though, as he could very well just sit out the season, wait for next June to arrive, and sign a deal with whoever he wants ahead of the 2024/25 season.
That's hardly a realistic situation, though, as Mbappe would like to stay active next season leading up to the Europan championship and the Olympics, scheduled for August 2024 in the French capital of Paris. That, of course, is looking more than ever as the final time Mbappe will play football in Paris.
