Recently back with the French national team after a long absence, PSG player Marie-Antoinette Katoto must withdraw again ahead of the match against Portugal.

Over a year and a half after her serious knee injury, Marie-Antoinette Katoto finally made her return to the French national team last weekend. It was a successful comeback as the women's team triumphed 3-0 last Friday at the Rohazon Park in Rennes.

Although she was on the bench at the start, the player was able to return to the field in the second half. The forty-five minutes on the field were sufficient for the Frenchwoman, who had time to put her name on the list of goal scorers in the match. After this victory, the already qualified Bleues will face Portugal this Tuesday before moving on to the knockout stage.

However, happiness is short-lived for Katoto, who already has to withdraw for the last match of the year. According to the FFF, she is suffering from a "muscular discomfort in a thigh" forcing her to leave the camp this Monday. The same goes for her former teammate, Kadidiatou Diani, who also affected against Austria.

For the proper development of the rest of the competition, three new players will join the team. Among them, Thiniba Samoura, the PSG defender, has been called up by Hervé Renard. The coach justifies this decision: "We were able to refer to the UEFA regulation that indicates that players under the threat of a second yellow card on Tuesday would be deprived of the semifinals of the Final Four," explained the leader of Les Bleues.
