Real Madrid and their captain, Karim Benzema, have decided to part ways after almost 15 years of partnership following the arrival of the forward and France international from Olympique Lyon back in 2009, the Spanish giants announced on Sunday.

After joining Real Madrid at the ripe age of 21, Benzema is hitting free agency for the first time in his career. The question now is very obvious: what's next for Benzema? Less obvious: could PSG attempt to sign the Ballon d'Or to fill the hole left by Lionel Messi's exit?

Benzema will need to decide when to play football next. Already well into his 30s, Benzema is a bit past his prime but still very capable of putting up numbers. Just this season, the Frenchman has scored 22 goals in 33 games between La Liga and the Champions League while also providing four assists in both competitions combined.

Here's the exciting part: there are strong reasons why Paris Saint-Germain should consider signing Benzema this summer if the France international is up for the challenge. He would be a fantastic addition to PSG team for several reasons.

Firstly, Benzema brings vast experience and a winning mentality. He knows what it takes to win big trophies, having achieved remarkable success at Real Madrid winning the UCL more times than PSG could ever dream of.

Secondly, Benzema's style of play perfectly complements PSG's attacking prowess. His intelligent movement, impeccable ball control, and clinical finishing make him a lethal striker and the perfect partner to play the pivot role with Mbappe moved to the left wing and Neymar either sold, playing as the team's 10, or just coming off the bench.

Moreover, Benzema's versatility is a valuable asset. He can adapt to various positions in the attacking lineup, whether it's as a central striker or dropping back to link-up play. This flexibility would allow whoever is named as the next manager of PSG to employ different tactical approaches and formations, adding depth and options to the team's attacking strategy.

Last but not least, Benzema's professionalism and leadership qualities make him an ideal candidate to guide and mentor younger players at PSG... and let's not forget that Benzema is, well, a born-and-raised French. (Yes, from Lyon, but still.)

So, as Benzema bids farewell to Real Madrid, PSG could be the perfect destination for him to continue his illustrious career. With his track record and skill set, he has the potential to make a significant impact and help PSG in their quest for domestic and European glory with their eyes still set on lifting the UEFA Champions League.
