After initially being linked with a move to Al-Ahli in Qatar, Julian Draxler has reportedly turned down the opportunity and is set to remain with Paris Saint-Germain for the upcoming season.

Following an unsuccessful loan spell at Benfica, Draxler was actively seeking a new club. However, there were limited takers for his services. But recent developments suggested a departure was imminent.

It was reported on Saturday that a comprehensive agreement had been reached for a transfer to Al-Ahli in Qatar. Nonetheless, this transfer appears to have fallen through.

According to information revealed by Florian Plettenberg, the proposed move to Qatar will not materialize.

PSG had reportedly accepted a €15m offer for the player. Draxler, a Germany international, seems to have unequivocally rejected the offer from the Qatari club. As a result, he is expected to remain in Paris, at least until the winter transfer window opens in several months.

Before the next transfer window arrives, however, Draxler is expected to remain outside of Luis Enrique's lineups as the manager has no immediate plans to utilize him any time soon.

It's worth noting that Marco Verratti is set to make the move to Qatar, where he will join Al-Arabi, an option Draxler has seemingly declined for now.
